I’ve owned this domain name for a few years with the idea that I would learn some web programming and use it to show off my work and share my experiences with the world. I don’t need a fancy site, but I do need to understand it and be able to control every aspect of it. My first attempt to build a site was a big directory of html and css files with lots of hardcoded links that liked to break any time I added or removed pages. Because it was so much work, I set it to the side, and it languished for about a year.

Over the 2017 Christmas break, I decided to learn The Right Way© to build a minimalist, attractive site that would allow me to do what I want without getting in my way. So far, Jekyll with Pixyll has been ideal for my purposes (as evidenced by this awesome site!).
